Oxford Quaker Meeting provides separate meetings for children to coincide with our 11:00 a.m. Sunday meeting. These aim to help the children feel part of the life of the Meeting by making friends amongst both adults and children and by exploring Quaker practice, history and testimonies. There are three groups, all run by parents and volunteers:

  • Crèche: Supervised play is organised each week in the Garden Room for 0-5 year olds.
  • Middle Group: For 6-12 year olds a meeting is held from 11:00am in the Long Room. The content varies from week to week and includes drama, discussion, cooking, craft activities, storytelling, games and more.
  • Teenagers: Teenagers are welcome at Meeting each week, either in the main Meeting House or joining with the other children's groups as participants or helpers. They are also invited to take part in discussion groups and weekend activities with other teenagers, generally organised across the Meetings in the Oxford and Swindon Area.

At 11:50 all the children and helpers join the adult Meeting and are embraced in the gathered silence.
